For those who lived quietly, and those who lived out loud. Sixty years of queer life in Newham, from the 1960s to today. The pubs. The protests. The joy. The resistance. The people who made Newham home.
For decades these stories lived in memory – passed down in conversation, held in photo albums, kept safe by those who were there. Now, for the first time, they have a permanent place in Newham’s official heritage collection, told in our own voices.
